Quality and consumer safety

There is no difference in quality, efficacy and safety between parallel imported pharmaceuticals and directly imported pharmaceuticals. Parallel imported medicine is original pharmaceuticals that are distributed in other EU countries and, therefore, does not have labels with Danish text. In the repackaging process, we put labels with Danish text on the packages. When you are handed a pack of medicine from 2care4, it may, therefore, look a bit different, but the quality and effect are identical to the original product! When we repackage the medicine, we are subject to control from the authorities and 2care4 is regularly inspected by the Danish Medicines Agency where compliance with Danish and European requirements are controlled. These requirements are included in the principle about good manufacturing practice – also known as GMP. 2care4 is acutely aware of our responsibility for quality and we, therefore, have a very open and candid dialogue with the Danish Medicines Agency.

Through our membership of The Association of Parallel Importers of Medicine and the European Association of Parallel Importers, we work on many levels to ensure continued accessibility in terms of original parallel imported pharmaceuticals to the benefit of consumers and society.

Our Suppliers

2care4 only buy medicine from European suppliers that we have approved and trust. We know the medicine’s path from the supplier and all the way to the consumer. Therefore, we only approve suppliers that can go through a thorough approval procedure where quality and consumer safety are paramount. Prior to final approval, the suppliers must be able to produce the required approvals and they are assessed through risk analyses and must positively answer a range of critical questions about compliance with applicable rules about quality. Our transporters are no exception and must be approved in a similar way. In this way, we quality-assure the supply chain so that only medicine of the right quality can enter our storage facilities and be repackaged.

Handling of Medicine

When the medicine is received by 2care4, our trained staff controls if the product is physically in accordance with our specifications and other relevant documents. If there is a match, we receive the medicine, which is then ready for further handling. If there is the slightest non-conformity or suspicion of a discrepancy, the medicine is put in quarantine and then our member of staff who is responsible for quality decides which measures should be taken. This may be contact with authorities or contact with the original manufacturer.

The repackaging is carried out by our experienced and skilled staff and during the entire process we maintain a high level of documentation to ensure everything goes according to procedure. During repackaging, processes and samples are quality-assessed by our specialized, independent unit. After the medicine has been repackaged, a specialized person reviews the quality documents, and, if everything has been done and documented in a satisfactory way, the medicine is released for sale and will soon be on its way to the pharmacy.

This involves that we describe all significant processes and work procedures, that we document them and that, through training, we make sure we consistently abide by these procedures and processes.

2care4 educate and train its staff to live up to applicable legislation at all times. As well as live up to the expectations which our customers and consumers have when it comes to medicine. All departments are involved in the effort to ensure a common understanding of and ownership of quality in our products. For this reason, we strive constantly to optimize internal procedures and honor the agreements we have with our partners. This is your guarantee that we will always supply medicine of the same high quality as the original manufacturer, however at a better price.
